Fedor Vs. Arlovski Might Not Happen In October

Due to a hand injury on the part of Fedor, 5 Ounces Of Pain reports that the Arlovski/Fedor bout might be scrapped and replaced with an Arlovski/Barnett fight that would determine the number 1 contender.

I remember him saying RIGHT after the fight, that he dislocated his thumb (I think it was) on Sylvia's face!

To be out that long usually means tendon or ligament problems. Broken bones take 6 weeks to FULLY heal (yeah...been there). Arloski vs Barnett would be a wierd fight. Not good, not bad, but worth watching.

"There are rumors going around right now that Fedor is off Affliction II, and the main event will be Josh Barnett vs. Andrei Arlovski, with the winner (maybe) fighting Fedor. Sam Caplan posted the story here:

A reliable source speaking condition of anonymity revealed...that Emelianenko has been dealing with a lingering hand injury that will make it virtually impossible for him to be ready in time for Affliction's October show...

This will be a big blow to the momentum of the second show, because Fedor's streak was really their ace in the hole. This puts Tito Ortiz in an even better bargaining position too, if true.

Also, while the hand injury probably really is the reason he is off, I can't help but wonder if it has more to do with his unaffordable price tag."

I want to see Arlovski vs Barnett, but I've waited a long time for Arlovski vs Fedor, and I want it to happen.

very very good call Krav,I came in just to mention his previous agenda where the only thing he valued was his own marketing value. It appears the Fedor of old has reared his ugly face once again. Oh well,seeing Big Tim flopping around on the canvas like a fish out of water will always be a great memory for me.

Jony, I see what you are getting at. Damned hard to tell from watching the fight just what happened to his thumb/hand. But is wasn't that great of a fight, although I liked Fedor winning. I have a hard time accepting Tim as a truly great fighter. Yeah, he had lost only 4 comming into this fight, but I never thought the talent was that deep in the UFC. Good fighters, but not great with mind-numbing stature as Fedor or some others of their time.
