Houston Alexander: 'I have not lost my UFC contract'
MMA Mania reports that :

Props: Fight Magazine

Quoteworthy:

“NO – I have not lost my UFC contract. NO – I have not fired my coaching staff. NO – I am not going to step down and fight for smaller organizations. The loss last month was tough, but life goes on. People need to remember that I have only been fighting professionally for a year and a half. I have made great strides during that time, as well as faced some setbacks. My training will continue and we are looking at visiting some of the larger camps for additional training and strategy for my next fight. I have a lot to learn and am hoping to have everything straightened out before I enter the cage next time. So no worries, I am not going anywhere!”

UFC light heavyweight Houston Alexander addresses speculation that his status with the promotion is somehow in jeopardy after suffering three straight defeats. UFC President Dana White indicated before his most recent loss to Eric Schafer at UFC Fight Night 15 that the “Nebraskan Assassin” needed a win or would risk having to take fights in smaller organizations and win his way back into the Octagon for another opportunity to shine. It appears that the charismatic father of six will get at least once more chance to prove he belongs with the top mixed martial arts promotion in the world. Let’s hope for his sake he can make the most out of it.

Damn RedCoat, Fedor should give up some royalties...I hope that the X improves his ground game too...I like his story and pray that he comes out on top. He's a good guy doing an admirable job raising his daughters, he's a DJ too!!!

DJ Alexander X doesn't just need to win, he needs to re-invent his ground game. Here's how: 1.) Learn how to NOT get taken down. It takes 21 days to habituate a response. So, for 21 days stuff the takedown for at least 1 hour each day from EVERY angle, and on some days do it exhausted (not too often due to burnout). 2.) A gameplan (A,B,

GOOD, CUZ I LIKE U!!!!!! Now, harness that power and release it when necessary......you don't need to practice the power --- it's already there. Your main focus should now be in 1. covering up when goin in for a hook -- overall counterstrike defense 2. slowing down your pace a bit 3. work on your takedown defense 4. MOST IMPORTANTLY --- train with a good jits and submission guy. Your Herculean strength has gotten you this far, and won you many fans, but learning the rest of the sport's gonna keep you around --- which is what we all want. Go Houston....

he should set some goal's for 2009.he doesnt have a plan if he doesnt knock the guy out in 10 second's.if you swing at them and there still in front of you youre in range and off balance for a takedown so improve you ground or pick and move and save your haymaker's for when you hurt them with the jab.A gameplan and he's dangerous.if he can make it,mw could be a good move for him.

MAn, I really like Houston. He does so much for his community. He also does so much for the other fighters, like knock them out stone cold. He may have areas to improve, but he puts people in the sinks.
